Aftermath

Today I finally got up on the hill to see what the fire did to my neighborhood. It made me want to cry. It's amazing just how helpless this burned hillside makes me feel.

Right at the northern tip of the fire is a hill that I looked over every day this spring. It was pretty, full of trees. I often thought that I should go over and explore that part of the mountain. Now it's all black. Who knows how long it will be until it is fully recovered. I'm glad it wasn't any worse. It's bad enough.......
