Travel Day
Next week will mark my 4th Next Generation Networks conference. This is held each year in late October or early November. It was at this conference in 2000 that I formulated the ideas that have set UEN on the Ethernet reconstruction of our network. We are in the middle of several projects right now.
Another forunate aspect of this conference is that for the past three years it has been held in Boston, a city I enjoy. I'm traveling there today and taking personal time tomorrow to enjoy the Boston area. There is so much history. Four years ago I took my family, wife and kids, on a tour of the east coast. We stopped in Boston and walked the freedom trail. It was an enjoyable and memorable experience.
Another highlight of that trip, then and now, was our ride to the 107th floor of the World Trade Center tower 2. We didn't realize then how significant that diversion would be.
Anyway, enough already. Today I travel. The up side is that I have a non-stop to Boston. The negative is that I'm up and going at 6:00 AM in preparation for a 10:00 AM flight. But we all understand that..........
