January 21, 2001 728pm CST Last night I saw Guy Ritchie's Snatch. I liked it, but I can imagine that a lot of folks wouldn't. Ritchie's latest effort fits well into the new gangster movie tradition, best represented by Pulp Fiction and Ritchie's first film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrells. Dark humor and unusual violence mark all of these films, and many don't enjoy these elements. For those who do like them, though, this film is the best representative of the twisted gangster dark comedy I have seen. Fast-paced and well executed, this film is funny and unpredictable. I recommend it.
