from an email regarding concert photos
I think what is important about a concert is the social aspect, the collective experience of an event. If a person spends too much time worrying about getting a shot or filming the show - they will miss that experience and in the process might distract others as well. I am much more concerned with that than worrying about somebody taking a picture or recording the show.

iBlog and Comments
I have messed around with iBlog, which I like a lot. It doesn't contain a comment option like Radio does, but it is a lot better at integrating everything else...I am thinking about the category options as well, but feel that using multiple categories creates more confusion. I mean, it could be practical if somebody wants to read only posts about touring, or only posts about recording, or only diary entries as opposed to blog entries but I think you should have to wade through it all and find the good stuff for yourself....what are your thoughts on categories? I mean that's sort of like saying I want only the songs in D minor, or am I wrong?

Well, you can throw out that high-definition televison you just bought -- it's already obsolete. Japan Broadcasting Corporation has developed a prototype for ultra high-definition television that has sixteen times the resolution of anything else out there. It's so realistic that some footage shown at a recent demonstration that was shot while driving around Tokyo in car actually induced nausea in some viewers. Read [Via Slashdot]... [Gizmodo]
Whew, glad I didn't bother with the Hi-Def TV.....

What I want.....
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a classy pair of flip-flop sandals? Black and without a logo...with soft silicone instead of hard plastic between your toes and gel in the bottom...so you too can be gelin' like a felon...something like that would look good with jeans or a nice Yamamoto suit...well, I have paired flip-flops with a suit, but I admit it that it didn't work very well...you can get fancy jeans - why not fancy flip-flops? They are called something else in Australia, but I can't remember right now...

Thu 2 Oct: Tampa Bay FL
The house lowered their take on the CDs a mere 5 minutes before the show and Geronimo had to hustle to set up in time for the intermission. We don't unload our merch and CDs until we can come to an agreement on the merch. There are theaters that really need the money to survive and we may make an exception and let them keep a larger percentage. But that doesn't happen often. Giving the house 20% on the cotton is fair, them demanding 30 or 35% is ridiculous. We always want our merch person to sell, because otherwise you get a local person who doesn't know me from a tree and certainly can't answer any questions regarding the music or band.

We had a good show and the people of Tampa (Tampanians? Tampanese?) were generous with their applause and appeared to have a great time. This is our 13th year of performing in Tampa Bay and it feels like a great home-crowd.....

For the last couple of weeks Canton has used a new tool, the Korg KP2 KAOSS Pad and he's getting beautiful sounds out of that box. He basically requests different inputs to the KAOSS by signaling our monitor engineer whether he wants the output of 1 (Ron), 2 (Jon) or 3 (OL). Then he live-processes our sound on the fly. He can adjust the tempo of the delays available by tapping on a screen.....pretty cool...
