South of the Border story... Maybe we can find some interesting web artists to work with us on this project and make it multi platform...LR writes the story, I'll make the music, we collaborate with someone on imagery and a web site...
Maybe it turns out great and we create a CD or DVD from it at some point? Maybe it is just a labor of love that ends up not being commercial? I am fine with that as well...practice keeps the blade sharpened...

Sat 4 Oct: Pompano Beach FL In 1997 I shaved my head backstage at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater. I can see why, even in October it is already hot and muggy at 10am... Ron played an astonishing tabla solo during Duende del Amor in Melbourne last night. His solos during that song are always amazing....astonishing was that he could ratchet it up even higher. Brilliant! The song Sao Paulo keeps getting longer and I like where it is taking us. It is becoming one of my favorite songs to perform. I want to check out the recording we made of the Melbourne show, because it seemed to me that the rhythm jam at the end of Barcelona Nights was so tight one could not insert a hair in between the bars.

Fri 3 Oct: Melbourne FL I wake up, open the curtain and recognize the building and the pond in Melbourne, Florida. After some breakfast and a shower I am taken to a CD signing at the local Barnes&Nobel store, which supports the theater. It is strange not to bring a guitar to an instore appearance. Even stranger is thinking that this could be my last instore as I am no longer using conventional distribution. I talked a little bit with people about how we are choosing to run my new company and even the B&N employees understood what's going on and wished me good luck. Stores like B&N are in a weird transitional stage also... One possible replacement of instore appearances could be to do more CD signings after our shows...
Sent an email to a person who would know to find out how many CDs the top five acts on the New Age charts sell per week. Would be interesting to know how our sales stack up against that. I have been very pleased with the turnout so far. The question is what will happen after this tour ends...
I am corresponding with Lawrence Russell about making music for one of his stories - to be written. I suggested maybe a book with a CD in the back, he suggested a web-based project, which I think is clearly the better idea. I think it would be cool for people to read the story, accompanied by a bunch of photographs/images, while music streams in the background. LR wrote: maybe a "mysterious flamenco/mariachi" player who's like a ghost... sort of Carlos Castaneda thing where the ghost player is like his Don Juan figure. Sounds like we are off doing it already.....great!
