Ah, shopping on the net! Let's take the Chateau Laguiole corkscrew designed by Olivier Poussier, who was named the best Sommelier in the World for the year 2000. The wood used in this corkscrew comes from the rare Yew trees of Chateau de Versailles, which were destroyed by a terrible storm in 1999. You can spend as much as $275 if you order it here, $155 if you order it from this store, $124.95 on this site, $99.95 here, and also $99.95 on this site.
Yes, they are all identical and manufactured by the same company in the little town of Laguiole in Provence, in the South of France. Some people are just more greedy than others, I guess. Me, I bought it from the last site early this year, on sale for $79.95. In my opinion it is the finest corkscrew and I carry it everywhere.
A Christmas tip for the wino in your family!

Santa Fe Trees Signs you see everywhere in Santa Fe now: Tree removal service
The signs are taped to signposts, traffic lights and fences and are quickly replacing the signs that say rock work or gardening services. I estimate that a quarter to a third of the piñons are dead...

Kids + Concerts pt.2 You know, I was thinking this morning. There is a kid's performer named Raffi and he put out a tape called "Baby Beluga". Now, follow me here, you could do a cd called "Baby Buleria", the loving, tender, touching, fantastic journey of Baby Buleria from the trappings of his upbringing in traditional Flamenco to his leanings for Nouveau Flamenco. This could be a major hit! Possibly leading to "Ottmar On Ice" and a Broadway musical. You could get Andrew Lloyd Webber (Roger Waters buddy) to score the musical. This was emailed to me this morning. Why wouldn't I score the musical myself, huh?
