The Italian Foreign Minister, Franco Frattini, is at the centre of a political row after reportedly buying a fake luxury watch in Beijing. He is said to have made the purchase shortly before he met Chinese officials to ask them to take action against pirated goods.
...and here comes the spin......
But the Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, was quoted by the Italian press as saying it seemed logical that a minister charged with speaking about the fight against pirated goods should have have proof of their existence by wearing a Cartier watch that cost 20 euros.
Ah, good reply....could go either way....

Albuquerque Yesterday I drove to Albuquerque for a warranty service on my Audi TT. To my delight I discovered that both the Satellite Cafe and the Flying Star cafe in the Nob Hill Section of Central Avenue offer free Wi-Fi. I also noticed that both of them were well-visited while the nearby Starbucks was near-empty. Starbucks does not offer free Wi-Fi - only burnt coffee - see the Jackie Mason rant I mentioned on Sunday...
