Wired reports on a phenomena I found out about quite a while ago. LED light can dramatically decrease wound healing time, and also has interested DNA effects. This is supported by several clinical trials. Nobody knows why it works yet, but the hypothesis is that light may supply extra energy to cellular organelles. [Minding the Planet] Nowadays more and more cars have LED headlights. When you get hit by a car with LED headlights you heal faster....

It's daytime here, but I'm watching the eclipse on the web. [Joi Ito's Web] I missed it completely...and I was outside last night and didn't even notice....

Ennio Morricone, The Movie Music Man In a Guardian interview, Ennio Morricone talks about composing music for films. My favorite of his theories: "The music in a film must enter politely, very slowly," like an uninvited guest at a party. I'm the first to cop to being influenced by Morricone. With a new 4-CD set, Io, Ennio Morricone, the composer's not only looking to come in, he's planning to stay for a while. [greg.org: about making films] Ennio Morricone has always been one of my favorite film music composers. So many beautiful, memorable and touching melodies!

We travelled once again on Prevost tour buses this Fall. The band bus had a keyless entry system which we all enjoyed. Of course I used a Fibonacci sequence for the entry code. The above link is to a similar bus, not the one we had out.

Thanks to Salma for the Jasmine plant, which miraculously survived the bus ride home from Annapolis and is currently blooming.

Austin I found his note in my Palm Pilot. I wrote it after our show at the Paramount in Austin, Texas in September:Sometimes every idea you reach foor is not just barely touched, but grabbed with gusto...ether turns into sound apparently on its own...tonight was one of those nights when everything comes together...thought goes straight from mind to fingers without hesitation...and because it works you dare to reach ever higher...and no energy is actually spent because the music seems to play itself...you hear the notes as they appear - before they sound...the fretboard becomes translucent and immaterial...you watch your fingers move as if they were not your own...I wish I could do this every night... I had quite a few evenings like that on this past tour and I am grateful for that.

Higher Octave Like fine wine, Higher Octave just keeps improving with age, adding depth and clarity to our great promise. - from an advertising I found inside The Santa Fe Sessions.
Or, can't teach an old dog new tricks. I had to involve my attorney again....let's leave it at that for now...will keep you posted...
I am furious with myself for licensing In the Arms of Love and The Santa Fe Sessions to them.
