The new sport that is sweeping the country.

Husbands carry their wives over a 278-yard obstacle course. This is the fourth year that the AWCC has been going on in Bethel, Maine.

BBC: Widow leaves US radio $200m. "US National Public Radio (NPR) has inherited what is believed to be the largest single donation bequeathed to an American cultural institution."

Let's hope they will start something great with that!

A picture named NuBass.jpg
Jon tried out a new bass in Chicago, and played it during our show at Park West that night. He likes it a lot and ordered two identical Lakland 5-string bass-guitars, except one is fretless and the other has frets. My guess is that you might be able to track down his current basses on Ebay pretty soon - well, after he gets the new ones sometime in January. These bass guitars were used on every CD we made from Solo Para Ti in 1992 until nouveaumatic this year.

Radio Userland slowing?
I could swear that it takes much longer to publish a new entry on Radio Userland. Has anybody else noticed this problem?

Apparently Mike Tyson (pictured at right during one of his title matches) was spotted riding a Segway in Miami Beach. When a crowd of people began surrounding him (you know how people are about celebrities), he started denying that he was really the famous boxer and was merely someone who bore a resemblance to him. Segway's response when asked asked the about incident is priceless: "Some people have questioned the safety of our product, but at least it doesn't bite back." [Gizmodo]
This I would love to see, wouldn't you?

One reader wrote in to point out that we hadn't mentioned anything about Toyota's latest version of its Prius hybrid car, which besides being more fuel efficient than most cars, has built-in Bluetooth, a 7-inch LCD touchscreen, a voice-activated navigation system, and a keyless entry system which is opens doors and starts the car using a wireless transponder you can keep in your pocket.[Gizmodo]
This car may be a little ugly, but it's got it going on. Have I chosen the wrong vehicle in the Honda Insight?

After a Simpsons episode featured a tomato-tobacco hybrid, a wacky scientist decides to make 'tomacco' in real life. Remarkably, it worked. By Kristen Philipkoski. [Wired News]
Let's see, I don't smoke and I don't like tomatoes - unless they are:
in ketchup
on a Bruschetta
in a red sauce for pasta...so I don't think the tomacco is for me.....
