A Neumann KU 100 binaural dummy head...puts the listener inside the recording - if they wear headphones...

In the Seventies the band Can from Cologne made a whole album using this method. I just orederd it on amazon.com.

See this web site or this one for info on Can, a band ahead of their time....Official Can web site here....

Ah, what I could do with that dummy...

Time Wheel
A picture named Time.jpg
I found this somewhere on the Long Now web site. Similar to the wheel I came up with for music, where traditional music is on the inside, turning slowly....and experimental music, youth music, culture-crossing music is on the outside, turning faster...some of the experimental or culture-crossing music may sink down or move toward the center of the wheel because it becomes part of the culture rather than being fashion....

...they're not selling the archive, containing more than a million songs by 250,000 artists. As of December 3rd, they're destroying it.
Here is a quote from the original Register article:
Not since the Great Leap Forward has there been such a destruction of the commons. Back then, for political reasons, millions of books were burned. Now, for very sensible commercial reasons that we must not question, millions of MP3s will be lost to the commons. You have precisely seventeen days to grab the good stuff (and, Steb Sly - we hope you have a backup)

I promise to never visit mp3.com again, now that it has been acquired by CNET. It was great while it lasted and gave a lot of underground artists the chance to be heard. Our ex-drummer Carl Coletti (1995-1997) was selling his music on mp3.com under the name Thumbtack Smoothie...

Update: Looks like Carl found a new home at CD Baby:
Textured digi-dementia glitchperimental electronic / IDM soundscapes surreal robotic lullaby textures atonal washes of delirium fractured melodies of all shapes and sizes.
That sounds so much like Carl!!!

Graphic Design the easy way! If you can press a button, you can n-Generate.
Or treat it as a game and just have a little fun.....
