I had a quick phone-call with Scott and suddenly I feel so completely chatty. I don't feel like calling anyone though, so I'm going to write here for a bit.

Kickball was pretty fun today. My first time up to kick, I did a perfect bunt and made first base (and the person on first got to second). The second time I got two fouls (which equal an out)...my first time to get an out that way. It's tough 'cause the best place to kick is towards third base and that's also right on the foul-line. If the ball has much bounce on it, it becomes a quick foul ('cause it can bounce out). At the end of the game our teams had tied (3-3) and so they had a drink-off. Basically three people from each team line up (boy-girl-boy) guy chugs a beer, finishes, girl chugs, finishes, last guy chugs. We had a guy volunteer who was just not a chugger. Doh! So, we lost in the drink-off. Ah well. It's a game. The boys were pretty upset about it. Cassie and I snuck out without going out afterwards.

I'm giving into some worries about Costa Rica. I know they're silly, but I haven't kicked them yet. Here's what they are: -What if the ticket things I have (which aren't tickets, really) don't work at the airport. -Or we get to Orlando and miss the next leg. -Or we get to Costa Rica and there's no one there to meet us. -Or we get to the hotel and they don't have our reservations or any rooms. -Or our luggage gets lost -Or we lose our passport and/or stuff gets stolen -Or we don't get along well spending that long together Um, I can't think of anymore. None of them are a MAJOR concern, but I wanted to write them out to think about them. So then I can say "okay, what if that happens? so what? none of them are the end of the world."

Today I was walking in a parking lot and was thinking happy thoughts and I heard this guy say to his companion, "That's one happy girl." yay! I was really in my head listening to Louis Armstrong sing "What a Wonderful World"...listen in your head and you'll probably smile too. :)

I need to think about packing and what I need to buy. Cameras/film. Maybe that's it. Hhmm..

Stretching is one of my favorite words.

Pretty words make me want to dance through the day with a skip and a hop and a twirl around With pretty ribbons and shoes and curls and little giggles This is the girl within me, decorating my aging smile
Pretty words make me want to stand up tall, speak clearly, watch closely and sit still With cute glasses, a ponytail, a reliable car and a serious look This is the older girl within me, decorating my aging smile

Our CFO has a 4th grader. Apparently last week (in the same day) he brought up two interesting conversations:
1.) "Mom I know there's no Santa. Will you tell me honestly that there's not? I know where you hide the presents and everything." You have to tell the truth when your kid is old enough to say "honestly," right? She told him "Santa lives in your heart all year and reminds you to be nice to people" and he was like "yeah, yeah, but honestly...you and dad buy the presents?"
2.) Funnier: "I think I know what periods are." She asked him what he thinks they are and he said "girls have two eggs swirl around inside them and then they come out in their tinkle." No. She had to draw a diagram. heh.
Man, being a parent is funny....

Tee-hee....one of my favorite work-boys just sent me an e-mail that said "I love you....thanks" ('cause I didn't make him fix something). It totally cracked me up. I once complained to him that I didn't think he liked working with me (yes, I'm a freak) and he sent me a .txt document that said 100 times "I like you. I like working with you." I haven't needed to look at it again (it was probably two years ago), but I have it saved just in case I feel neglected. I don't think I will though...
I need to make his baby-book for his second little boy. Maybe I'll try to do it from Costa Rica. His wife made him check-in with me to make sure I wasn't mad since I hadn't done it yet. Pressure!
"Baby-book" you ask? For a few [very special] people I have made little scrapbooks where I write a story about a baby, decorate the pages and the parents then just have to put in the pictures. It's a lot of work. Fun work, but still some serious time. I did one for this guy's first baby, so now the second one needs to have one...
