Nagasaki has been rebuilt as perhaps the nicest looking larger city in Japan. The fact that it has terrain like San Francisco helps. Yokohama, another port city with hills, is a distant second. While Nagasaki got nuked by the USA in 1945, Yokohama got nuked by mother nature (earthquake) in 1923. Both cities, in different eras, also have a legacies of being hom to ethe largest number of expatriates hoping to open Japan. OK, we're still trying.
