Okinawa-Rape Trial Japanese prosecutors demand five years for US marine in Okinawa rape trial. AFP via SpaceWar: Japanese prosecutors on Wednesday demanded a five-year prison sentence for a 21-year-old US marine accused of beating and raping a woman on the southern Japanese island of Okinawa in May, a court official said. A verdict in the case of lance corporal Jose Torres, charged with rape resulting in injury, is due September 12, said the official with the Naha District Court on Okinawa.
