It has been a year since we have seen the Nikkei "soar" to 10,000. If you had asked traders during the bubble if they thought they would ever cheer a rise to ten grand, they would have looked at you like you were nuts. I am among those pundits who does not hesitate to predict that the Nikkei will never hit 40,000 again (barring some sort of devaluation of the yen). Some predict that the Nikkei may have a tough time seeing 20,000 within this decade.
Just in case you are wondering, I do not own any Japanese stocks directly, although I know I have some through a modest investment in an international mutual fund.
