Two U.S. Soldiers Killed in Plane Crash

   Asan, South Korea, Aug. 12 (Yonhap) -- A U.S. Army C-12 light aircraft crashed in Asan, South Chungcheong Province, Tuesday at around 2:10 p.m., killing two American soldiers on board, according to police.

   The two-seater plane crashed in a field near Inju-myeon as it tried to make an emergency landing, eyewitnesses said.

Why is this news? Because loan sharks have operated with total impunity for decades here. The crackdown (on merely one guy) was prompted by sophisticated operating techniques in sourcing potential clients (i.e. people facing financial hardships). Everyone in Japan knows that loan sharks are part of organized crime. The semi-legit, so to speak, firms even advertise on TV. However, they provide a source of personal loans in light of a banking system which prefers to suffer a billion dollar loss on a bad loan rather than a thousand dollar loss.
