US, Japan, South Korea mull backing NKorean entry into ADB: report.
AFP via SpaceWar: Japan, the United States and South Korea are considering backing North Korea's entry into the Manila-based Asian Development Bank if Pyongyang ends its nuclear program, a report said Friday.
The three nations aim to help North Korea abandon its nuclear ambitions by showing a readiness to support loans from international financial organisations, the mass-circulation Yomiuri Shimbun said.
The move is also aimed at incorporating North Korea in the framework of the global economy and putting the reclusive Stalinist nation under international watch, it said, quoting anonymous US and Japanese sources. [The Agonist]
