Yesterday, in Peggy Noonan's WSJ column about webloggers, she opened with this paragraph full of weblogger labels, which are either derisive or complimentary depending on your point of view...
"Salivating morons." "Scalp hunters." "Moon howlers." "Trophy hunters." "Sons of Sen. McCarthy." "Rabid." "Blogswarm." "These pseudo-journalist lynch mob people."
Now wait just a minute... she listed "blogswarm" didn't she? That sounds familiar (1/20/04).
A Google search and a quick perusal of the date results for "Blog swarm" and "blogswarm" show that I may have actually added to the American lexicon. There is a guy out there named 'blogswarm' who does a lot of commenting on various websites, but as for coining the phrase that describes the multiple-blogging-for-a-cause practice alluded to in Noonan's column, I seem to have weighed in first. I'll check more deeply when I have more time, but on first blush it would seem that my footnote in blogging history is assured.
