Today was a press conference where Yokogawa executives again outlined how they will achieve the #1 market position in DCS/transmitter (industrial automation, defined by the areas they play in). They have an ambitious agenda ahead of them, but a focus and determination seldom seen in business today.
Also announced was FieldMate, a portable field device tool that supports both EDDL and FDT. Expected to ship in 2006, this specially designed laptop computer is targeted at large facilities where engineers and technicians need to move around to configure devices on the network.
A visit to the Meiji Shinto shrine and a Japanese dinner (plus shopping for some) followed.
