Lights and Water Show
At the end of my work day yesterday, the sky opened up and water poured forth. There was only one other time I remember this much rain falling in such a short period of time here in the Yukon. That was the day our neighbour's basement got flooded in a matter of minutes.

Driving through town yesterday, businesses in low lying areas had water coming up to their steps, and storm sewers couldn't handle the volume. On top of that, there was a dramatic thunder and lightening storm. The thunder was so loud it shook my car.

All I could think of was that Jamie was camping with his class in this weather. Last night, after the rain had stopped, Joe and I drove out to the camp to take Jamie some dry shoes, socks, and a dry sleeping bag, but he seemed quite content to walk around in his sopping runners, so we came home with everything we'd gone there with.

I have to say the camp seemed in disarray.....much the same as Jamie's classroom. I'm not a fan of his teacher, who from where I sit is a pretty lazy and doesn't appear to take much pride in his work. Even reading the assignments he's given his students, I can see that he's just slapped things together - I'm always finding typos and poor grammar, and sometimes the sentences don't even make sense. It's not been a fun year for Jamie or us, and I can't wait until Friday, which is Jamie's last day at school.
