Dreaming I had a rather intriguing dream last night. I was in Faro, a little community a few hours from here. It was once a mining town, but the mine closed down several years ago. Nonetheless, a number of people stayed on and have kept the town going.
I was there for work I think...some kind of team building exercise. My friend Lucca was with me, but we somehow got separated. We were supposed to go horseback riding, but I stumbled upon the most amazing recording studio I have ever seen (not that I've seen that many!). It was huge, and I found out that a very large orchestra of some kind was there to record. At first I was happy just to watch them work, but then they said that I could provide back-up vocals, and I was in heaven.
Lucca kept calling me on my cell phone and leaving messages, asking me to call her and tell her where I was. But she never left her phone number, so I couldn't call her back. And besides, I was really getting into my role as back-up singer. When everyone else had ended a word or phrase, I would let my voice go on just a split second longer, so I could hear myself alone (I remember when I was in choir as a kid it used to drive me crazy when someone would do that). It was too funny.
