As I promised to these guys
on Saturday, below are two links to the videos we talked about.
Essentially, some rather skilled DJs have been able to apply their mad
scratching skillz to familiar Star Wars themes.
The first video was originally spotted on kottke. The second one I came across while Googling for the first from home.

On Saturday, I visited my first--the tenth annual--HonFest
in lovely downtown, Hampden. Think of it as a celebration of
Baltimore's past and as an homage to Baltimore as portrayed in the
films of John Waters. The weather was nice and hot, just as it tends to be in Baltimore in early June.
Some of the highlights include watching the "Baltimore's Best Hon
Contest." That was entertaining, to say the least. The
presence of an Elvis impersonator was the only thing needed to keep me
entertained. The funniest thing during the contest was seeing
"Elvis" sing "Love Me Tender" to the Royal Farms Chicken. Some of his best lines, delivered in an Elvis-voice:
"I want to take you home and eat you."
"You look so tender and juicy."
"Those look like some tasty buffalo wings."
Whomever was in that inflatable chicken-suit must have been thinking
that their meager hourly wage was not enough to be serenaded by Elvis
and lose 30 pounds from sweating in the heat.
I was there with her and some of my neighborhood friends. While there, we ran into Kmart and ACW.
As usual, it is always entertaining to meet up with them. In
their company we enjoyed some tasty Marz Hon and Natty Bohs. We
also visited with seadragon and Brain Coral
to sample their photographic wares. I promise both of you that
the next time I see you, I am buying since I will have a boatload of
cash on me. It is always good running into my fellow
bloggers.
The evening ended with too many mojitos at Little Havana in a preview of Wednesday's festivities. They were so damn good!
