On my job search front, I received some promising news last week.
When I got home from work on Friday, I had a voicemail from someone at
the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.
It was after business hours when I got the message. I decided I
would call on Monday morning before heading to the beach.
When I called the gentleman who left me a message, I was told that they
would like to have me in for an interview. Thus, on Friday
afternoon, I will be interviewing for the position of LAN
Administrator. I am excited about this opportunity on a variety
of levels, but before I get too far ahead I will make sure I am ready
for the interview.
Looks like I will need another day off this week.... ;-)

Late last week, I decided to take the first three days of this week off to go visit my family on the Eastern Shore--Ocean Pines,
to be exact. I have not been down in some time, and I prefer to
go during the week as opposed to dealing with the weekend beach
traffic.
It was nice to get away for three days. Admittedly, it is not the
same without my grandmother there anymore. It is nice to have my
great-aunt and great-uncle living nearby, though. That is in
addition to my uncle living just down the street in his house.
While I was there, I did the usual technical house-calls that I get to
do when I visit family. "Hey, my computer is acting funny, can
you take a look?" I don't mind it, but some of the problems can
be more vexing than others. My great-aunt "cooked" a Linksys wireless router,
and the only thing I could do without voiding the warranty was to tell
them to send it back and get a new one. I, of course, would like
to know how exactly she "cooked" it.
I also discovered what I forgot to pack in my bag--the most essential
item every man needs: boxers. Yes, that's right, I forgot to pack
some drawers for the trip. Thankfully, I was able to use my
grandfather's washer and dryer to clean my one pair. I then
headed out to the nearby Gap outlet for a couple pair of boxers,
grabbing a couple of ringer t-shirts that were on sale while I was
there.
Here are some highlights of my visit to the beach:
It was nice to get away and have some time to relax. I would have
liked to spend some time on the beach, but I am sure I will have some
more chances to do so this summer. Now, I get to go back to work
tomorrow.
