I just got off the phone with one of my friends who says that someone else told him that Sean Bolan's has been sold.  Furthermore, the new proprietors are planning on making it into a steak and wine bar.

Great.  All Federal Hill needs is another wine bar.  There are plenty of win bars--Vespa, The Bicycle, and Corks--that meet the needs of the area.  Don't take away what is a good Irish pub with good people and good beer.  All of the aforementioned restaurants are quite good, but they are not as inexpensive nor as fun as a good Irish pub.

I need to talk to some other people to find out if this is true.  If so, expect me to purchase a new domain name and place some content there.  According to GoDaddy.com, saveseanbolans.com is available.

Yesterday was the October 2005 edition of "Patch Tuesday," courtesy of our friends at Microsoft.  There were a whole slew of patches--seven (7) to be precise) that have been deemed critical or important.  If you wish to make your eyes bleed by reading the technical details, enjoy the material found here

If most of you quasi-geeks out there keep your machine up-to-date, then you should have received a nice notification in your system tray--where the clock is--telling you that patches have been downloaded and installed.  All you will need to perform is a nice reboot.  Most Windows XP machines should do this.  If you are in a corporate environment, do nothing until you hear from your preventer, er, provider of information services.  If for some reason your machine does not automatically download and/or install updates, just visit Windows Update using Internet Explorer--you know, that blue "e" icon on your desktop you rarely use.

If you are running anything older than that, I will pray for you.  If you are running a non-Microsoft operating system, you may enjoy a haughty laugh at the expense of your Windows-using breathren.
