After reading MT's comment and having an offline discussion with Mike,
I am planning to pull the trigger today on a video iPod. I, too,
will drink the Kool-Aid, take a hit from the Apple bong, if you
will. As I mentioned before,
my Dell DJ has been too flakey of late. It would not copy over
some of the podcasts I listen to, and all of a sudden now it is able to
copy over the podcast. Since I have no warranty on this device
anymore, it makes sense that I get one. Besides, the device is
almost two-years-old.
There is part of me saying: "Don't buy that $300 device until your DJ
dies." There is another part of me saying: "Buy the iPod and be
done with it--enjoy its new dadget hotness and make all envy you.
Then, get rid of your Dell DJ."
Of course, if I were smart, I would make those people who insist on giving me something for fixing their computer contribute to my iPod fund. ;-)
