Royal Leamington Spa is launching its bid for the 2007 European Athletic Association (EAA) Cup of Race Walking. The bid is being launched in a joint venture between UK Athletics, the Race Walking Association and Warwick District Council.
If the bid is successful, the event will bring 350 athletes from over 30 countries to the attractive Warwickshire spa town for a day of top class competition in May 2007. As Europe remains the leading continent in race walking it will attract may of the World's top walkers. European walkers took all three Olympic titles in Athens and walked away with seven of the nine medals on offer.
