Karenika wrote about the self-delusion so many of us carry around -- that we are 'grown up' somehow because we are chronologically old. Over the years, I learned that being mature is not a line one crosses. It's not like there's a day before which you're a child and after which you're a grownup. There are events that occur in our lives that force us to act mature and take responsibility, often sooner than we wished. Of course, she left out the part where you catch yourself thinking that you're bein' all bad an' grown-up an' stuff, y'know, like, in certain situations, y'know, and are thrilled by the novelty of it. IMHO, one of the best things to do is to pick a good project, then start it well... Groundwork for Project Success. The best way to make a project successful is to start well. Bringing your project in on target is challenging, but certainly possible if you know how to go about it... What is 'good' can take many forms, and have many benchmarks, but a crappy project is often easy to spot.
