DaveW musta got really riled reading this one...

Alex Beam in the Boston Globe writes yet another blog-basher. I don't think he understands that weblogs can be used to tie communities together. We do criticize each other's ideas, and thanks for making that easier. There's a lot of pressure to only say positive things, but we have to get past that.

A gentle reminder that some of us may not say anything (sometimes), rather than start bashing another blogger. Unless they really deserve a good bashing, of course. :-)

Ideas are always fair game for a solid bash, but ad hominem attacks should be kept out of it. And the bashee must learn to listen to what is being meant by the comments, not so much how (poorly or rudely) they are said.
