How Apple Spells Future: i-P-O-D
Makes sense to me. I'm bias though - I've had an iPod since they first came out (5gb) as a Christmas present. I've also always liked using Apple computers - from the Apple II+ to the IIgs to a Quadra 840AV and now we have two iBooks. The iPod is different and given a good Windows version of iTunes, Apple will be hard to beat with portable music. Other portable music players just aren't this easy to use.

I also think that Apple could clean up with such software as iSync. It works a lot better than a lot of other synchronization programs. I don't know if there are conduits to other platforms - like to exchange. But if the ability exists and it shows up on Mac OS X first, that would get a lot of attention. The current iSync can work with iPods, Palms/Handsprings and a lot of phones.
I think Apple is thinking bigger with the iPod and iSync.

School network security breach
This story sounds like the school is in denial. They wanted to inform the teachers and approve of a policy instead of actually making a network secure - and when the network was breached and the administrators were told, blam - fixing starts right away. Was it a coincidence that they claim to have just been fixing the network security just within the next few days? This feels more like covering their butts to avoid legal battles and that they can't actually admit that they didn't know how unsecured their network was...
