Disposable digital camera?
This is a strange product from Ritz Camera. They will soon be selling a $10.99 'Single-Use' digital camera. The big draw to digital photography is that once you own the camera and all it's parts (media, batteries, media reader), then pictures are free. A disposable film camera makes some sense - as you need to develop the pictures. But a disposable digital camera? Makes me wonder if the camera can be opened up so that you could download the pictures yourself.

Seems like the only people that would buy this kind of camera are the people whe are not capable of figuring out how to download pictures on their own. There are a LOT more people in this group than I might like to believe. The next problem is that the pictures come back on a photo CD - if they couldn't learn how to download, the odds are against them using a photo CD too. Which translates back into just having the pictures printed... now why would I spend more money on a digital version of a picture when the regular disposable camera would work?
Like I said, this seems to be a very confused gadget.

CNet: StorageNetworks to shut down
I know a few folks who were working at StorageNetworks. Lots of little companies seem to be tumbling.
