Group caught by posting pictures of crime to website...
The link above leads to a story about a tree being cut down about 16 months ago and the police having no leads. Until someone where the tree was cut down happened to find pictures on a website showing the guys who cut it down along with descriptions for each picture.

Think about this for a minute. This group gets together, decides to go cut down the tree, takes pictures while they do everything and they get away cleanly. They decide to share the pictures so they post the pictures to a website. I'll take a guess that they weren't expecting anyone beyond their group to find the pictures, but search engines troll websites for new really well following new links and indexing. Which set them up for the person who just happened to search for the correct keywords and this person was given the link to the pictures. It's obvious that the police would get involved next.

Replace exchange with open source groupware...
This is an interesting open source project - they are providing an open source grouprware package that can replace exchange. They seem to be following reasonable directions - everything is basically open and available as much as possible. This includes database schemas and even the database itself is your choice. There are a couple of non-free components, but that is currently a limitation of the clients that need to talk. If you will need a server to share documents and calendars and contacts - then this could work for you.
