We've had a busy last weekend.
The wedding was great, but the Roman Catholic mass brought home to me again how my faith has changed. I belong at New Hope Chapel now.
I also visited with the local Transport For Christ in Shrewsbury on Sunday. I met George there - he's one of the volunteer chaplains. I had wanted to stop in and see what the new chapel looked like, but just hadn't gotten there during the last year or so. It's a nice little chapel that is in a truck trailer. Lots of good work is going on with Transport for Christ.
Toute's test results came in yesterday. She has cancer and it's in her lymph nodes. Today Maureen had an appointment with Toute and we found out that the cancer could take Toute soon or possibly within a year. We just have to celebrate the times we do have together.
Oh yea - some friends of ours are looking into buying an inn (I'm not going to fill in any details until it's all finished). This is a case where a five year plan got collapsed into a thirty to ninety day plan (caused by a reduction in force from the last place I worked). We're praying for success in their transition. I've worked with Bruce for a long time - great friend, someone you could always trust. He wrote solid code and always cared to do the right thing. I respected his technical knowledge. He also had athe same learning kind of attitude that was a lot of fun to work with - we both always thought that we didn't know everything and that if anyone could point out something better then we'd fix whatever it was the better way. I always enjoyed working with him.
His wife Jessica is another great person. She has a drive and really wants to be an inn keeper. Great couple. They eloped a while ago (might be getting close to a year by now? might be longer... I can't quite keep track of time anymore). You could always see a gleam in each of their eyes when the other is around. Definitely good folks who we'd do nearly anything to help out.

We went to a relative's (Kerrie is a second cousin of Maureen's family) wedding on Saturday. Here's a picture of the couple:
They are a really nice couple with a lot of family :-)
The wedding was in North Andover in a Roman Catholic church on the grounds of a collage (rats, I can't quite remember it's name). The weather turned out kind of warm. It was a nice wedding.
The reception was at the Andover Country Club - quite a spiffy place. We really enjoyed it - nice people to talk with, lots of food and it was a great time.
We left a little early just to get home for Toute (she needed her medication and food).
Really nice folks - we're praying for them. They went to Aruba for two weeks for the honeymoon.
