Pictures of New Hope Chapel and downtown Westboro
I took some pictures of New Hope Chapel and downtown Westboro to share with our family who happen to be involved with the war in Iraq. This is a crude photo gallery...

John Robb's weblog is back...
He asked for links to his weblog... here's one more.

John Robb is an interesting read - lots of ideas and he seems to think really well. I've been reading his weblog for a while now - good stuff. He also always got great comments when he asked questions in the past.

NYTimes: Jessica Lynch returns home today
Cool beans.

We all have a lot of friends supporting the war effort and it's not over yet. It's great to see some folks coming home. But we still need to support Iraq through these hard times until they can become independent.

We're praying for a scheduled return date for Steve, Tim and Bill - good guys from our church.

Toute comes home today again...
Toute made it through her operation and she's getting better a day at a time. She's getting active and I'm suspecting that she wants to come home. I'll pick her up tonight on the way home.

Today we had a lots of rain this morning. The sky opened up just as I was getting into my car for the trip to work. I was in amazement all the way in - the storm was pretty amazing. It also brought home to me how our pastor is in Iraq where the temperature is over 100 degrees without any rain at all. Sure wish we could share some rain :-)

Our complex problems continue as usual, but I stumbled across something last night. In Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis wrote "Besides being complicated, reality, in my experience, is usually odd. It is not neat, not obvious, not what you expect. ... Reality, in fact, is usually something you could not have guessed. This is one of the reasons I believe Christianity. It is a religion you could not have guessed. If it offered us just the kind of universe we had always expected, I should feel we were making it up. But, in fact, it is not the sort of thing anyone would have made up. It has just that queer twist about it that real things have."

The problems that I've been running into lately are not neat and definitely anything but obvious. The obvious answers just don't work at all. It's only through faith that I've persisted and God continues to provide the answers and direction, especially when I know that I can't do it myself.
