InfoWorld crossed the wrong line... (open letter to InfoWorld)
Hi!

I've been happily subscribed to your RSS feed for my news aggregator (radio userland) since I got Radio. However, now that you've chosen to put ads in the RSS feed, I won't read it again. If you eventually change this policy to not include ads, I'd be glad to read from infoworld again. The reason I use a news aggregator is to find news - not ads. You've stepped over the line and started shipping me ads in an RSS feed. I see adding ads to an RSS feed as a bad decision on your part. I'd love to be informed when you change your policy to not include ads anymore.

Good luck,

The RSS feed for InfoWorld is available at: http://www.infoworld.com/rss/news.rdf. One ad in an RSS feed is one ad too many.

Lexmark announces 4Gb compact flash
Wow! This is a 40x speed compact flash which is huge. I'm thinking that small embedded systems with this type of storage could do amazing things. Cool beans for Lexmark!

NYTimes: U.S. Military Continues Search for Hussein
There's actually some very interesting news here.

The U.S. military took 400 volunteers for the new Iraqi army to the northern city of Kirkuk on Monday to begin two months basic training, and American forces passed a third straight day without reporting the loss of a soldier in combat.

We need to get the Iraqi army trained and working to rebuild. This is a beginning to having that happen. It's also great news that no other Americans were killed for a few days.

Witnesses said Iraqi police joined U.S. soldiers in fighting the attackers and then withdrew inside the police station.

I'm seeing this as good news too. The Iraqi police and U.S. soldiers were fighting together - think about that for a minute. The news coverage I remember hearing over the last few months was how empty and unstaffed the Iraqi police were. This is infrastructure coming back together. The attackers are still a problem... but I'm glad to see some progress on core infrastructure.

From all I've read, I believe that the infrastructure in Iraq has been deteriorating for a couple of decades. It will be a long time before we see Iraq back together again. I'm praying that we continue to have the patience to see this rebuilding through to the end. There is nothing easy about this road we are on.

Good morning!
It was a slightly cloudy day today while I was driving in and it's like everything going on around us (Toute had a problem last night and needs a new feeding tube, computers not always working, hard to get everything done that needs done, you know, life - just as usual with lots of the typical stuff going on). So, I was praying on the way in, right after that - the sky opened up and the sun came out.

The Son shines light through all of our darkness.

I need to dance around today and the dance song of the day will be: Awesome God by Rich Mullins (follow the link to see all of the words and hear it)...

When He rolls up His sleeves
He ain't just putting on the ritz
There's thunder in His footsteps
And lightning in His fists
The Lord wasn't joking
When He kicked 'em out of Eden
It wasn't for no reason
That He shed His blood
His return is very close
And so you better be believing that
Our God is an awesome God Our God is an awesome God
He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom, power, and love
Our God is an awesome God

I heard from our Pastor, Steve - he's safe and busy in Iraq and they just dedicated a chapel there. Two of the painters (Jalal and Daham) are friends and we need to pray for them. I'm looking for Arabic Bibles - anyone have any pointers?
