Dinosaurs in Pittsburgh
Mom mentioned this in passing... but there are Dinosaurs all around Pittsburgh. Carnegie Museum of Natural History and the City of Pittsburgh got together and created a citywide art event (DinoMite Days). There will be a gala event (Oct 18th) where some of the dinosaurs will be auctioned and profits to be sent to charities.

Sounds kinda cool - I'm hoping to have some pictures of the various dinosaurs... but haven't had a chance to get anywhere near there lately.

Pictures from Maine
We had a rainy trip up to Maine. The weather was wet and dark and didn't look very good at all. Once we crossed into New Hampshire, the sky cleared up and everything was dry and it turned into a wonderful day.

One of our first stops was for... food! Gotta eat first! We had a big lunch at Lord's:

Down the street from Lord's is a body of water that leads out to the ocean. The water was just sparkling:

We drove north and headed into Kennybunk Port and drove past the Bush Estate. Big, fancy neat place:

There were two things I saw there that I thought were really cool. One is this sailing ship:

The other cool thing that I saw happened as I was sitting on some rocks near the ocean. I had gone out to take some pictures of the area and noticed waves crashing into a corner of rocks:

The neat thing about this was what I saw after the splash started to settle down. It was a micro-rainbow that only lasted a few seconds:

Here's a picture of Maureen and her parents (Beryl and Helen) in front of the Bush estate:

During our drive around Kennybunk, we saw this horse and carrage:

Our last stop in Wells was The Lighthouse Depot. They have an the 'worlds largest collection of Lighthouse stuff'. They have a big lighthouse outside with an ape that resembles King Kong and an airplane - the display is called Cape Ape. This was a Community Arts Project for the Greater Portland Area, sponsored by Harbour Lights, the artist was Jay Piscopo. The plaque on the base of the lighthouse had all of this information and a quote: This Ape Can't Escape.
