Music Fans Must Rebel Against Greed
What happens when an industry mistreats its customers and its suppliers? When 8,999 of 9,000 audits show shoddy accounting practices? When a core business is bungled and the marketplace shrugs and moves on? When scandals and greed lead to massive layoffs and massive disgust?
I'm not talking about Enron. I'm talking about the record industry. [FoxNews]
...this is scary, a blog posted on FoxNews! This means that we are being mainstreamed. I guess the 15 minutes are over and we can all go home now...NOT!
It's cool to read other stuff that is so in synch with what I have been saying for years about the Music Industry. I think Napster will end up being remembered as the earthquake that set off the tidal wave that changed the industry. I still remember the "Sgt. Pepers..." soundtrack fiasco...ask any insider about the impact that had on the industry and cutout bins. Sometimes one event can change many things. Sometimes it takes "the death of a thousand pricks"....mj

The Pornography of Power...
I just love this logo -- it captures the essence of our current administration...it may also represent much of what our future could end up as -- the Corporate Presidency. A couple years ago there was a TV series called Total Recall 2070. In this dystopian future the world is run by a small group of powerful corporations who own everything. My favorite piece was the executive walking in for a meeting with his seven corporate attorneys in tow...then again perhaps they were just too close to the truth...mj

Push Back on HTTP...
I have been reading some of the stuff on the replacment of HTTP. It's all a little mysterious, but one fact stands out. MS is involved...
Then you need to sit back and read this I, Cringley from last year. If you change the subject from TCP/IP to HTTP, and then wrap it in the Terror Threat -- gee what does it look like?...mj

Bush Supports Terrorism...
Were you offended by the "Drugs Support Terrorism" ads that ran during the Superbowl? My friend Kurt sent me this link...you may not agree with it, but it does present an interesting point of view.. I like opposing points of view...they're the root of a healthy democracy...mj

...Who can say
where the road goes
where the day flows
- only time
And who can say
if your love grows
as your heart chose
- only time...
