I may have broken through the wall today.
The past 6-9 months have been the most difficult in my life. Sorting through all the assumptions and all the dreams. Trying to look at the future and figure what direction I want to go. It has been hard on me, and it has been harder on my family.
I love my wife and I love my kids. My son deserves the father I can be, not the person I have become. It's hard to face your own fears. It's hard to face the future with no set direction. ABI has been my crutch for the past several years. It has turned out for naught. I need to accept that and move on.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life. It is all I have for sure. It is all any of us have for sure. I have wrapped myself in self pity for too long. I have let it run my life. I have let it ruin my life. It doesn't have to be that way. I can change that. I must change that. I have got to move on and live today and not the past that haunts me. For my sake, my families sake, my sons sake...mj

Skating on thin ice...
As a casual fan of figure skating, it is interesting to hear an opinion from someone who has been involved at the higher levels of the sport. Mary Wehmeier has once again taken up the sword and skewered the sport for it's corruption and back-room deal making.
I would suggest that you head on over and read her last two postings on the continued fallout from the Olympic Ice Dancing fiasco. It's no surprise to see a sport bent on hanging its image. All you need are money, power, and a dash of greed...mj

Le Pen gets buried...but wins
For once the French get it right. Don't get me started on the French...great food, good wine, but since Napy, how many things to smile about on the military front, or the world stage?
They had an exlection today and did the right thing. The Left came out, held their noses and voted for Jacques Chirac. Over 80% voted for the conservative President. Even if he lost, Le Pen did acheive one thing, French politics is moving to the right. The hard Law & Order plank is going to get pushed by Chirac and the new more right-leaning assembly.
In defeating Le Pen they will give him many of the very things he wanted...strange how that works...mj
