Software can be cool When we talk about web services we talk about the future. Well let's talk about today! I installed Watson from Karelia. It is simply an amazing peice of OS X sotware. It provides a common interface to a host of web information services. You need a movie time, a stock quote or your favorite love poem translated to Welsh, this will do it. For schools, it's MS's way or the free way Microsoft has beaten a retreat -- albeit a rumblin', bumblin', stumblin' retreat -- from Oregonian] Tic tic tic...the clock is running and MS is fighting to find new sources of revenue. When companies get desperate they get nasty. The irony is that in every case Macs are less expensive over time for school districts. Linux is also a good bet but a support issue. For districts living on tight budgets, this is exactly the wrong moral and ethical thing for MS to do. It will buy them no business and only prove where their hearts are...mj 8:08:09 PM
