The Denver Post has a short article about the race for auditor. The two candidates are battling for endorsements and they're still sniping at each other over contributions.

2003 Denver Municpal Runoff Election

Today's Off Limits column from Westword has some news related to the runoff election. They explain a bit of the history leading to the row between Caroline Schomp and Jeanne Robb over with regard to zoning and gay couples.

Here's a link to today's The Stump from the Rocky Mountain News.

2003 Denver Mayoral Runoff Election

Update: Don Mares' campaign has posted a link to his TV ad. According to e-mail from the campaign the content went up before the May 6th election. I missed it. They posted it in Real and wmp format and that shows an inclusive attitude. I didn't see the link that was labeled "Don Mares' Today" until yesterday.

The Denver Post and 9 News have conducted a new poll according to the Denver Post. The new poll shows John Hickenlooper at 58%, a slight drop, and Don Mares at 36% a slight gain, over last week's Rocky/News4 poll, among voters that said they would definitely vote. From the article, "The survey was of 1,000 Denver adults on May 18-20. It included 815 registered voters and 540 certain voters. The margin of error was about 4.3 percentage points, although it is larger when applied to subgroups." Where are the details for us number junkies?

John Hickenlooper's record in business receives some scrutiny from the Denver Post in this article. From the article, "John Hickenlooper's success at running restaurants in Denver has not translated into a nationwide brewpub empire as the entrepreneur once hoped."

The Rocky Mountain News reports on the Wells Fargo forum held yesterday. The article mentions that Hickenlooper has picked up the endorsements of the Police and Firefighter unions.

Here's an interview with John Hickenlooper from the Rocky Mountain News.

Here's an article from the Denver Post dealing with the ethical issues around John Hickenlooper becoming mayor with regard to his business interests. From the article, "Experts in political ethics say Hickenlooper should provide a detailed accounting of his companies and business partnerships if he is elected. He should also avoid decisions that affect his businesses."

Westword cartoonist, Kenny Be, makes light of Don Mares' attempts to differentiate himself from John Hickenlooper.
