2003 Denver Runoff Election for Auditor

Update: E-mail from Dennis Gallagher's campaign claims that Bill Wells has endorsed the current city councilman in next week's runoff election.

The Rocky Mountain News is running a story about the auditor's contest between Dennis Gallagher and Ed Thomas. According to the Rocky, "With less than seven days until the election, City Councilmen Ed Thomas and Dennis Gallagher are running aggressive campaigns, working phones and pressing flesh for ballots and bucks." The newspaper includes a short table outlining the goals for each candidate.

2003 Denver City Council Runoff Election

Caroline Schomp is accusing Jeanne Robb of ignoring campaign finance reporting rules according to the Denver Post. For her part Robb is quoted as saying, "It's something our lawyers will spend a few minutes looking at." The Rocky has this story about the flap.

Marcus Pachner and Marcia Johnson square off tonight in two debates according to the Rocky, 6 to 7 p.m., Fallis Elementary School, Niagara and Virginia, and 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Johnson & Wales University, Quebec and Montview, Foote Hall.

2003 Denver Mayoral Runoff Election

The relationships between Denver and the suburbs is the subject of this story from the Denver Post. From the article, "For decades, Denver ruled Colorado as the Queen City of the Plains. Times have changed. The reign has waned. The neighboring communities are demanding equality."

Don Mares and John Hickenlooper faced off in a debate on channel 9 last night. The Denver Post has an article this morning with some of the details. Here's the coverage from the Rocky Mountain News.

Both candidates are touting the importance of women to their election hopes according to the Rocky Mountain News this morning. The Rocky also has an article profiling Don Mares' campaign staff.

Here's an in-depth look at John Hickenlooper from the Rocky Moutain News.
