2003 Denver Mayoral Runoff Election

There is a televised mayoral forum tonight from 6-8:00PM on Channel 9.

Here's an in-depth look at Don Mares and his door to door campaign effort, from the Denver Post. From the article, "On the streets and in the neighborhoods, Mares makes all kinds of sense to many who engage him on the issues. He connects with many Hispanics, wins over an alliance of black ministers and renders ethnicity irrelevant to many voters impressed with his political experience and devotion to Denver."

John Hickenlooper was short on big name supporters until he received the Rocky's endorsement and won the general election. The Rocky details some of the changes in this article.

Don Mares and John Hickenlooper are trying to reach voters in Coyote Gulch's neck of the woods, North Denver, according to the Denver Post. The Rocky Mountain News has an article concentrating on the Hispanic vote. They mention the fracture in North Denver politics that occurred in the early nineties that is helping John Hickenlooper land support there.

The Rocky Mountain News has an in-depth look at Helen Thorpe, John Hickenlooper's wife, along with a short bio.
