Rick Ross' Radio Weblog: "Mac OS X has really renewed my interest in Apple. I'm really thinking seriously about trying to banish Microsoft from my existence as a technology user. I think the balance has tipped, it may be time to return to Mac."

Just Say No to MicrosoftMicrosoft isn't exactly evil.
But it is too big and too powerful for anyone's good.

Undress Your Mac for ThrillsResembling a tea ceremony, the unpacking of a new iMac has taken on some distinctly ritualistic touches: The iMac arrives in the mail. People are invited over. They gather around the boxed computer in the center of the room. Drinks are poured, lights lowered, candles lit. And while the new machine is unwrapped, someone takes pictures to post on the Web.
This doesn't surprise me. When Bobbie bought her last iMac there was great excitement as we unpacked it. No we didn't invite anyone over, and though we didn't post them on the net, we did take pictures. Ahem.

Salon.com News | The meaning of Ari's blunder: "How could Fleischer, an apparently intelligent man, have screwed up so badly? The answer seems clear. Fleischer's statement has all the hallmarks of being what Bush officials actually believe, and say when they're in private. Fleischer had simply sat in on one too many briefings where Cheney or Condee or maybe even George himself had trashed Clinton's Middle East diplomacy in just those words, and he suddenly spouted out what he'd been he'aring for months." Is this 'Salon journalism? This reminds me of the Enron story they ran recently. It's not based on facts. It's pure speculation. I enjoy reading it but the reader has to be on gaurd. Would this stuff fly in a print journal?

O'Reilly Network: Jon Udell: Radio UserLand 8.0 Is a Lab for Group-Forming [Mar. 01, 2002] But a great many of us are busily trying to create shared knowledge -- within small workgroups, within departments and divisions of companies, and in the world at large.
What I now hope to achieve with Radio and software like it is exactly what I used to think I'd achieve with mail/news clients and servers: the ability to collaborate in many communities using the tools of hypertext, indexing, search, and cross-referencing. Two very important quotes from an article which is not so much a review of Radio but a discussion of the possibilities it creates. Do you see that first paragraph? BINGO! This where I want to live.

I'm cleaning out my INBOX today. It really is a shame that all these folks don't have an "rss" feed I can subscribe to. They send me so much kewl stuff. Unfortunately much of it rots in my mail until I bite the bullet like today.

Thestar.com/Canada sends jets in terror scare: "The rules of engagement for Canada have changed drastically under NORAD since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington. On such escort missions, the Canadian fighter jets can be ordered to fire their missiles to shoot down a passenger jet if a terrorist threat is confirmed.
Scott Johnson of NORAD command in Colorado Springs, Colo., said last night more than 270 such missions have been flown by U.S. fighter jets since Sept. 11, but yesterday's scramble was believed to be the first involving Canadian fighters." Jesus. No wonder rail traffic is up. Who wants to look out their window on a flight, see a couple fighter jets and wonder if they're going to be taken out.
