News: Survey shows trust in media declines --
http://makeashorterlink.com/?E1C821471
Comment: The Wall Street Journal (my favorite paper) has the highest
credibility, USA Today the lowest. But the credibility ratings were not very
high for anyone. Guess the only media you can trust is us blog writers (heh
heh heh).
News: I just finished listening to a book on tape called "Last Breath:
Cautionary Tales from the Limits of Human Endurance" --
http://makeashorterlink.com/?C2D811471
Comment: This was a very entertaining diversion as I drove to Detroit and
back today. Peter Stark reenacts the last moments of life for various people
killed (or nearly killed) when they reach their limits of endurance.
Many fascinating tidbits of information. Did you know that if you warm up a
hypothermia victim too fast, their blood pressure drops drastically (as
blood rushes to their thawed-out limbs) and they die of a heart attack? That
a heat stroke literally cooks your organs from the inside? That pet ferrets
kills more people each year (infants left alone with the pet) than do
grizzly bears?
