News: Two digital artists with the help of a Global Positioning System are walking, driving and cycling down the world's roads to trace out enormous works of art -- http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,52989,00.html

Comment: Another example of creative ways people use technology. Seems like a pretty weird hobby, though. Almost as weird as skulking out into the countryside in the middle of the night and peering through a metal tube at the night sky.

News: Cool tech gadgets from Japan -- http://slate.msn.com/?id 67557

Comment: The article points out that people in Japan value, and are much more willing than most Americans to pay for, gadgets that are novel and/or compact. Imagine an entire nation of Inspector Gadgets.

News: For the first time in a week, I was out looking at the stars last night. Terrific views of Lagoon Nebula and Trifid Nebula. Very sharp and steady. That ETX is really something. But then the clouds rolled in around 11:15. Rats. Looks like we're in for about a week or so of unsteady weather.
