News: 6'9" eighth-grade basketball player has college scouts drooling --
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/preps/basketba/2002-07-08-nike-camp.htm
Comment: Eighth grade! Amazing. There's so much money involved in college
and pro basketball that young players are being identified and trained
earlier and earlier. Of course, some tennis players have turned pro when
they were 15 or 16.
Interesting that they quote Tom Izzo in the article.
News: Soaring cost of health insurance --
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A41642-2002Jul8.html
Comment: It looks inevitable that employees are going to be asked to pick up
more of the cost of health insurance. That's acceptable...if we also get
more choice in how our health care dollars are spent. More choice should
lead to more competition and lower prices.
