News -- People impervious to reality. See these pictures of anti-war signs and placards from San Francisco anti-war rallies this weekend: http://www.right-thinking.com/comments.php?id=P292_0_1_0

Comment - These are appalling or hilarious, I'm not sure which. What is it about people in the Bay area? When we were in Berkeley in December, 2001, I saw people selling posters that had a picture of President Bush in a turban labeled "Osama-bin-Bush". Remember, this was only a few months after 9/11.

It's one thing to have a thoughtful disagreement about the Bush foreign policy. But slogans like "Bush is Hitler" are just stupid. Perhaps the mild climate in the Bay area fosters infantile behavior among certain people. Folks that kooky would freeze to death in Michigan.

News -- Calculators On-Line Center: http://www-sci.lib.uci.edu/HSG/RefCalculators.html

Comment -- You'll find calculators of every shape and kind at the Calculators On-Line Center. The latest statistic indicates there are 16,755 calculators on the Web site, created by 3,050 individuals. They're divided into four parts: alphabetical categories, math, science, and engineering. There is even a Star Trek warp speed calculator. Also lots of astronomy calculators, like Ken's Telescope calculator: http://www.klhess.com/telecalc.htm
