News - Who says the Catholic Church is behind the times? Church seeks
nominations for patron saint of the Internet:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A58076-2003Jan28.html
Comment - One of the leading candidates is the Archangel Gabriel. It was he
who brought word to Mary that she would give birth to Jesus. Of course, it
wasn't an e-mail message to Mary ("You've got heavenly mail!")
News -- Too much or too little sleep can lead to modest increase in risk of
heart disease, according to study reported in Archives of Internal Medicine:
http://archinte.ama-assn.org/issues/v163n2/abs/ioi20170.html
Comment - The link above will take you to a summary of the study. The study
was based on self-reports of the amount of sleep that women received each
night. It found that eight hours a night seems to be the sweet spot. The
authors suggest that getting eight hours of sleep should be considered an
essential part of a healthy lifestyle, not just a luxury.
