NOTE: This post, while funny, is not for the faint of heart.
When one has issues in the vaginal and vulva area, one discovers all sorts of interesting tid bits of information whilst doing research. My number one reference source, The V Book, has two entertaining side bars listing euphemisms for female genitalia:
Names women give their genitalia:
- "Toidy"
- "Toot"
- "My Privates"
- "My Bottom" (I think this one is too easily confused with the rear end)
- "The Poogy" (Good grief!)
- "Nether Regions"
- "Downtown"
- "Down Under"
- "Weenus" (Gads - I can't believe this one...)
- "My Pootney"
- "Miss Muffet"
- "Snuffy"
- "Snoochy"
Shakespeare's Euphemisms:
-
Maidenhead (Twelfth Night)
-
The Netherlands (Comedy of Errors); Niek should get a kick out of this one!
-
Glass of Her Virginity (referencing the hymen; Pericles)
-
Virgin-Knot (referencing the hymen; The Tempest)
-
Tail (Taming of the Shrew)
-
Treasure (Cymbeline)
-
Sweet bottom grass (Venus and Adonis); My favorite of this group!

So the weather is still SHIT. As I type, it is pouring rain again. It is soooooooo April out there.
This is a picture of yesterday's High School cross country ski race.
From today's Daily News:
The X Games made an unscheduled appearance Saturday at Kincaid Park.
It was billed as a high school cross-country ski race, but in reality it was more of an X-country ski race.
It had skiers turning 360s in mid-course. Skiers catching air as they leaped over puddles and debris. Skiers sliding when they should've been gliding. Skiers taking off their skis in mid-race and running.

Well. In the print version of this morning's Anchorage Daily News, the front page of the Money and Business section has a great picture of my boss, Richard Dowling, standing in front of the cable telephony NID on the outside of his house. However, the picture made absolutely no sense in the context of the article which was about Mike Felix, the head of AT&T Alascom. I could not figure out why Richard's picture was included - it seemed like a big mistake.
Evidently it was a mistake. I thought I'd put Richard's picture on my blog. But the ADN site doesn't have the picture. Instead it has a much more in-context picture of Mike Felix.
So, you'll have to wait until the Daily News runs the cable telephony piece - the article for which Richard was interviewed and photographed - to see a picture of my boss. I've been intensively involved in GCI's cable telephony project for the past year. Richard's house was the first location we've turned up in the field. It was a major milestone.
