Oooooh - a double category post: Wine of the Night and Adventures in Technology:
Peter and I just finished a TiVo install - from scratch - for his law partner Jon Rubini and his wife Suzanne. My rate: costs plus one bottle of great red wine. We did the install in an hour - a vast improvement over the one week it took us for our original install. I have to say, that I've feeling pretty stud-like on the TiVo install front!
And the wine. Let me tell you about the wine. I'm a little whacked (and on a school night too - a bad thing), but omigod...So anyway, the wine:
- Numero Uno big shot wine: Marquis Philips 2001 Shiraz (Aussie) - one of the great Shiraz's I've ever had. Huge huge huge wine. Big smokey cherry wood flavor - super smokey. I've never tasted a wood smoked wine like this one. It also had a good shiraz spice and was complete all the way across the palate. Get it if you can.
- The other wine: 2000 Chateau Beaucastel - one of the few times I would ever think of Beaucastel as the other wine. As always, the perfect example of a Southern Rhone. One of my total favorites.
