This has been the most magnificient weekend of baseball. Pudge's play at the plate yesterday is why baseball is great! As Joe Sheehan of Baseball Prospectus said:
If the shot of Ugueth Urbina tackling Ivan Rodriguez as Rodriguez holds up a
baseball in triumph isn't on the front page of Sports Illustrated and every
other sports publication next week, just fire all the editors. That was one
of the single greatest pictures I've ever seen in sports, an amazing display
of joy...
...I'm not sure Rodriguez still isn't holding that baseball. He may show up with
it in his hand on Tuesday. Heck, he may show up with it at his Hall of Fame
induction.
The Florida Marlins' web site has a great photo sequence of the entire play. I have a friend who says the most exciting play in baseball is a play at the plate. He's right.

 Yea!!!!!
The BoSox just pulled out another game. Peter and I have had a blast listening to and watching the games in the past two days.
As David Pinto stated, " Pedro Martinez vs. Barry Zito tomorrow afternoon. Play hooky and watch."
