Another day packed with hilly walking, shopping, and overindulging on good food.
While Peter was spectating at the University of Washington basketball game, I was literally pawing my way through some of the more interesting parts of Seattle.
I attempted three urban Seattle geocaches today and only hit the jackpot on one of them. Urban caches are exceedingly difficult - because of the tall buildings, a solid GPS signal is impossible. Pedestrian traffic is heavy and as a result the caches are usually very small and very well hidden - making them much more difficult to find. And again, because of all the pedestrian traffic, urban caches have a tendancy to walk away.
So, after three hours of intense hunting in the cold among the street people and Christmas shopping hoards, I only managed to find one of out the three caches - and that one was tricky. I had to wait twenty minutes for a very deranged street person to move on their way before I could get to ground zero.
I may try again over the next few days on my two failed caches.
And here I am, triumphant (but looking a tad deranged myself), with the Trails.com Geocache:
